The fun is over. Now the work begins.
After an off-season of speculation, expectations and nerves, came one of the most anticipated drafts the DVFFL has ever had in it’s 11 years. This draft brings on a new precedent – the trading of draft dollars. This draft changed the landscape for every single team. Gone are the days of all of us starting from the same start line. This point was emphasized by $108 dollar gap between the highest starting budgets (240) and the lowest starting budgets (132).
Some things to keep in mind when looking at these grades:
The average budget for the league was $189.
The average budget for playoffs teams was $171.
The average budget for non-playoff teams was $215. ($227 if you remove Dyl).
It is impossible for me to go pick by pick and tell if it was a value or not. However, the baseline assumption is, the bigger the budget the better the draft grade.
The grades:
1. Kaden - A+ (100% chance of playoffs) Budget: $240

**The percentage chance of playoffs is assuming an average level of team management. Those percentages will be higher with timely waivers, good trades and correct lineup decisions. However, with this league, you can’t always assume that consistently happens.
So can we trust these grades? Last year, 6 of the 8 teams listed in the top 8 made the playoffs. With the top two teams, Kory and Jesse, being the two teams that made the finals.
But let me explain further:
